Owners of Rock City Eatery, Nikita Sanches and Jessica Imbronone, announced this September they would move the eclectic restaurant to Midtown. The relocation to the former Bangkok Cuisine at 4216 Woodward Ave. requires transforming the interiors to Sanches' vision of his updated restaurant.
Reporter Ian Thibodeau stops by the space and says Sanches is taking down the existing walls to get down to the brick, so that Rock City Eatery will have an industrial feeling. Sanches is doing most of the work himself when he's not at his existing restaurant in Hamtramck.
Though the kitchen will be larger in the new space, Sanches says the food will remain relatively the same, but with the addition of pizzas, since he has room to build a pizza oven.
Look for the opening of the new location in February.
