After a few rounds of soft openings, downtown newcomer Briggs Detroit is making it official. The Detroit News reports that the sports bar is open for business in the former Tom's Oyster Bar space on Jefferson. Briggs claims to be the first gay-owned sports bar to open in the downtown area since the '90s. Owners Tim Moored and Rocco Tossone previously owned The Fern in Ferndale. The restaurant features burgers and sandwiches served with house-made chips, as well as 24 beers and two cocktails on tap. The owners plan to open the rooftop patio in the spring.

Serving up the Bennett burger with housemade chips today in the Test Kitchen for lunch. It's a mouthful;)
