CAPITOL PARK — Want to take a peek at Dessert Oasis's progress? The forthcoming café is hosting a latte art competition on Thursday at 8 p.m. for a $5 donation. [Facebook]

SOUTHWEST — El Barzon's sister restaurant La Noria is receiving some outdoor upgrades. The lot adjacent to the Michigan Avenue building is being build-out, presumably for a patio area. Meanwhile, the old Coney island signage has been glossed over. La Noria is expected to debut before the end of the year. [EaterWire]
