Veggie worshippers be advised: GreenSpace Café's doors will open to the public on Wednesday. The restaurant, owned by Daniel Kahn and cardiologist Joel Kahn, announced the official date Sunday evening via Facebook. GreenSpace fills the vacancies left by Maria's Front Room and Just 4 Us on Nine Mile.
Chef George Vutetakis consulted on the menu, which will feature vegan and oil-free dishes. GreenSpace is outfitted with a full bar, slated to open on Tuesday to the public and also houses a DROUGHT retail space (which soft-opens today from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.). With the opening of its sixth location, DROUGHT also launched raw food including raw oatmeal and chia pudding as part of its product line. Eater has reached out for more details. Stay tuned.
Update, 11/18, 9:36 a.m.: Soft openings at GreenSpace will continue this week with a limited a la carte menu served from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to a rep for the restaurant. The official opening date is now set for December 1, with several more soft opening services in between. The menu at GreenSpace is still receiving final tweaks but will feature dishes like bourbon teriyaki mushrooms, cremini tempeh sliders, and roasted broccoli. The bar will serve craft cocktails as well with some prepared using DROUGHT products. Stay tuned.
