Trendy Oregon-based shop, Will Leather Goods is the latest in a slough of controversial high-end retail to hit the Cass Corridor. The store took over the old Tom Boy Market space, filling it with selling pricey bags, home décor, hats, and — as it turns out — a surprisingly good wifi café.
Assistant café manager Felix McCarthy tells Eater that the Detroit shop is the first of Will's seven locations to feature a full cafe and serves coffee from Tailored Coffee Roasters in Eugene, Oregon. In addition to four single-origin coffees and espresso blends, the store has its own specialty Will blend developed by founder Will Adler. The café area also offers a toast bar with Slow Jams products, as well as cakes and pastries from Holiday Market. Seating isn't limited to the cafe. As McCarthy explains, everywhere inside Will Leather Goods, from the communal art gallery table to the rocking chairs, is available for customers to lounge in. Will Leather Goods Café is open seven days a week during store hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
