Opening Report: Detroit's First Applebee's Now Serving; Black Rock Debuts in Canton

Plus, a new club has filled the former Bert's On Broadway space.

1) DOWNTOWN — It appears plans for a second Rockefellers Oyster Bar in downtown Detroit have been abandoned (no word on the Midtown location) after numerous delays. Instead Bert's On Broadway has reopened under the moniker 1315 Broadway, a multi-level club with different themed rooms, according to WCHB. Status: Soft Open. 1315 Broadway.

2) CANTON — Black Rock Bar & Grill debuted in the former Roman Forum space on Sunday. According to the Detroit Free Press, it's a massive 410-seater with an outdoor fire pit-adorned patio. Status: Certified Open. 41601 Ford Rd.

3) STATE FAIR GROUNDS — If casual, sit-down chains ring your bell the city of Detroit's first Applebee's officially debuted Monday in the Meijer complex on 8 Mile. The restaurant features an exclusive Atwater brew on tap and Detroit-themed décor. Status: Certified Open. 2111 East 8 Mile.
