East Jefferson grab-and-go restaurant Belle Isle Pizza is soft open. The eatery owned by partners Leor Barak and Dave Essig debuted a little more than a week ago in the former Garalino's space with a limited menu and a updated look. The restaurant has the same bones of the old pizzeria with a wood counter, new awnings, and chalkboard menus. Chef Michael Altman says the restaurant is focusing on create-your-own pizzas during first few weeks but will eventually add signature slices. Belle Isle Pizza is cash only for now.
