Detroit is combining two things it has in abundance — pizza and cars — to create a suped-up pizza delivery vehicle complete with its own warming oven. Domino’s, General Motors, and car part manufacturer Roush Enterprises held a crowd-sourced design competition to improve its pizza delivery cars. The DXP, which stands for "Delivery Expert," can transport up to 80 pizzas at a time, and features non-slip surfaces and a light that projects the Domino’s logo onto the ground. Domino’s plans to roll out 100 of the vehicles to 25 markets in the next 90 days starting with Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans, San Diego. The pizza giant says approximately two-thirds of its business comes from deliveries.
