Operating in its original location since 1890, Eastern Market's Roma Café is one of the oldest restaurants in the city. From the red and white striped awnings on the outside to the red tablecloths and Rome-themed photos on the inside this Italian eatery keeps new generations of customers coming back for its old-fashioned charms.
The menu includes classic entrees like Spaghetti a la Roma and Chicken Parmigiana, but the owners also aren't afraid of changing with the times. Last summer a new chef, Guy Pelino took over with plans to add more farm-to-table dishes to the menu. While some might debate the authenticity of their cuisine, no one would deny the iconic quality of Roma Cafe.
Roma Café is located at 3401 Riopelle St. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays.
