If you didn't think the heavenly ice cream at Treat Dreams could get any better, think again. On February 1, Chez Chloe's Corner will begin selling lava cakes inside the Ferndale ice cream parlor.
"Since I don't have a shop, it's a good way for me to tell the customer that you can go to Treat Dreams and buy my cakes," says Chez Chloe lava cakes founder Chloe Sabatier.
The two businesses plan to "play around with new flavors, decorations, and new shapes," she says. For Valentine's Day, the suggested pairing is a raspberry pistachio lava cake with white chocolate, Chambord raspberry liquor, and chocolate chip ice cream. For St. Patty's Day the special will be Bailey's lava cake and Guinness ice cream.
For Chez Chloe's Corner's Super Bowl Sunday kick-off, Sabatier is promising special deals as well—free lava cake samples from noon to 4 p.m. and four lava cakes and a pint of ice cream for $18. The Corner will house both fresh and frozen cakes.
Treat Dreams is located at 22965 Woodward Ave. in Ferndale. The parlor is open noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Chez Chloe's lava cakes are also available at local grocery stores and farmers markets.
