Keego Harbor's Yardbird Smoked Meats is adding brunch service beginning at noon on Saturdays and 11 a.m. on Sundays, according to a company release. The Texas-style barbecue joint headed by chef Jeremy Grandon opened last fall and serves smoked meats and fixings.
Brunch includes cornmeal pancakes, cheese and Spanish omelets, Belgian waffles with seasonal jams, and thick-cut French toast with orange butter and maple syrup. The restaurant also incorporates its signature barbecue into items like egg-topped hashes.
Grandon has also developed two breakfast sandwiches. The first, Mr. Crunch, is a Texas toast grilled cheese topped with pulled pork, an egg, and secret sauce. The Morning Glory sandwich combines brisket, Andouille sausage, egg, pickled jalapeños, and garlic mayo. The whole thing is served on a potato roll. To top everything off, Yardbird has a selection of fresh orange juice, mimosas, and Bloody Marys.
Yardbird Smoked Meats, located at 1978 Cass Lake Rd. in Keego Harbor, is open daily from 4 to 11 p.m. on weekdays, noon to 11 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
