Capitalizing on the big tipper trend, this week a real estate company surprised an unsuspecting Ann Arbor delivery driver with a whopping $2,084 dollars, a Visa gift card, lottery tickets, and some "letters of encouragement," according to the Detroit Free Press.
The delivery driver, known only as Rob was called upon to deliver a single pizza to the Sheraton Hotel Thursday afternoon. Upon arriving, he was greeted by a room full of realtors from Keller Williams Greater Cleveland West.
After passing off the pizza, Rob turned to leave, only to be beckoned back by the emcee who gleefully passed on the gifts donated by the Keller Williams agents.
A clever marketing gimmick? Maybe. But what delivery driver wouldn't welcome an extra big tip to round-off an afternoon?
Rob's manager, Brian LeFarve tells the Free Press that the Rob was "pretty ecstatic about something" when he returned from the Sheraton. "He said, 'I just had a life-changing delivery.' He was kind of blown away."
