Just in time for the Detroit Lions' season opener on Monday Night Football, Joe Nader, the Executive Chef of Levy Restaurants at Ford Field has unveiled this year's new offerings in the stadium's Huntington Club, the newly expanded Detroit-themed club level.

Last year things were looking pretty good last year with the addition of Slows Bar-B-Q, Sugar House cocktails, and Corridor Sausage Company, among others, but this year they're trying even harder to bring both gourmet and healthy options to the stadium.

Barry Sanders Fit and Fresh Meal, marketed to parents who want their kids to eat healthier, includes a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread, carrots, apples, juice and a Topps trading card of the former Lion and Hall of Famer. Be advised, this healthy choice is not available in general concessions.

Mercury Burger Bar is one of this year's new offerings. Among the menu options are their classic burger, French onion burger, and turkey burger. Says chef Ariel Millan of the opportunity to cook in one of Michigan's largest venues: "It's nothing I can't handle. I'm using this venue as an incentive for my staff. It's certainly a more luxurious kitchen than we're used to."

Biglora Wood Fired Pizza, which features a 600-pound, custom-built brick wood-burning oven manufactured in Italy. Chef Luciano will introduce his family Sunday tradition, meatballs, made with Piedmontese beef, a leaner, grass-fed breed of cattle.

Slow's BBQ: Slow's To Go and draft beer available in general concessions.
Pegasus: gyros, Greek salads, spinach pies from the historic Greektown restaurant.
American Coney Island: Coney dogs.
Michigan Craft Beer: selections from Bell's, Kuhnhenn, Detroit Brewing Company, Atwater, Liberty Street and Dragonmead.
Sugar House: Cocktails from the Corktown favorite are available in the Club Level
Russell Street Deli: favorites from the Eastern Market veteran are available in the Club Level.
Zingerman's Creamery: gelato and sorbet, only served to club seat and suite holders.
Corridor Sausage: handcrafted and artisan meats, available in the Club Level.
Good People Popcorn: The Bricktown purveyor serves popcorn in the club level.
Hail Mary Bloody Mary: McClure's Bloody Mary mix is off the menu, but fans of the tangy beverage will be impressed with this version. It's fully loaded with blue cheese-stuffed green olives, lime, a cube of pepper jack cheese, a cherry tomato and a beef stick that doubles as a straw.

This year's extreme menu offering: a footlong Dearborn hotdog smothered in chili cheese fries and onions. Says Nader: "It's like a coney with fries." This selection is definitely large enough to feed a small family.-By Serena Maria Daniels
