New Hamtramck pop-up venue Yemans Street has announced it first dinner will take place at 7 p.m. on September 26, featuring a good friend of the proprietors, chef Jay Gundy of Cork in Pleasant Ridge. Tickets are on sale now on the company's website for $65. Seating is limited 60.
The location is just a short walk away from the existing (Revolver), an already popular pop-up establishment run by Tunde Wey. This newer upstart is juxtaposed right across the street from longtime Hamtramck staple Polish Village Cafe. It will only be a matter of time before the Tinkers will learn whether their venture will be embraced in the city's already bustling culinary community.
As for the five-course menu, here's a sneak peek of what to expect: grilled carrot soup, red wine braised short ribs and scampi-style mussels. Remember, Yemans Street is BYOB as of now, so pair wine accordingly.
