Lisa Ludwinski, the baker behind Sister Pie, has announced plans for a brick and mortar bakery location of her own in West Village. Currently fans of Ludwinski's sweet and savory goods can place orders online, at Parker Street Market, Germack Coffee Roasting Company in Eastern Market, or Socra Tea in Midtown.

Now that a deposit has been made on a 900 square-foot space, Ludwinski plans to gut the property and secure funding for a redesign. Anyone interested in helping out with the clean-up is invited to #futuresisterpie Work Days. Work dates will posted on the Sister Pie newsletter.

Says Ludwinski of the location: "We really fell in love with the neighborhood after we started delivering pies and cookies to Parker Street Market in April. The thought of being across the street from our friends (I went to high school with Caitlin James, co-owner of Parker Street Market and Drought) was a big part of our decision - we've already established a following at the market and within the neighborhood."

Addition to baked goods, Ludwinski said the bakery will serve light breakfast and lunch menu items, including sandwiches and salads. No projected opening date, but Ludwinski says Sister Pie is planning pop-up retail events while the kitchen is being built.
