Ferndale's John D Bistro will become the second outpost of Crave Lounge. John D owner Eddie Farah is teaming up with Thea Ramadan, owner of the original Crave Lounge in Dearborn.

Located on Woodward Avenute just south of Nine Mile Road, John D Bistro opened in 2012. Crave's first location opened on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn in 2005 with a menu focused on fresh sushi, sashimi, carpaccio and nigiri. According to the Detroit News, Farah and Ramadan will bring Crave's "flair" to the new Ferndale location.

"We've joked about opening a Crave in the John D Bistro space for a while," Farah says. "A couple months ago, I decided that having a Crave on Woodward Avenue is a no-brainer. I would be foolish to pass on the opportunity." The Ferndale Crave will have the same award-winning sushi, full dinner menu and craft cocktails as the Dearborn restaurant.

John D's modern American menu will be available for the next few weeks until the transition to Crave is "nearly finished." Details of the timeline and changeover are still being finalized. Crave Lounge announced on Facebook that the restaurant is currently hiring "experienced servers, hostesses, bar backs, bartenders and sushi chefs" for the Ferndale location.
