The Forest Grill in Birmingham is preparing for an unusual dinner on September 16th, opening their kitchen to chef Jason Vincent of Chicago. Forest Grill's chef Brian Polcyn met Vincent while traveling, eating at his former restaurant Nightwood. Vincent will be working with Polcyn and chef Nick Janutol to highlight their individual strengths for a one-night-only event.
His strengths should work well at Forest Grill, as "at Nightwood Chef Vincent created a daily-changing menu highlighting Midwestern ingredients, wood-grilled meats and hand-made pasta." But his credentials don't end there, "In 2012, Jason was crowned the "King of Porc" at Grand Cochon, a national event culminating in a competition of regional winners in Aspen, CO. In 2013, he was selected by Food & Wine as one of their Best New Chefs. In 2014, Jason was selected as a James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best Chef, Great Lakes."
The dinner is a highlight for not just diners, but the restaurant as well, as they "are thrilled to have him come to Forest Grill and to cook with us." Tickets are still available, they are $125 per person, including wine pairing, tax, and gratuity. Call the restaurant at (248) 258-9400 to reserve your seats.
