Guns + Butter's chef Craig Lieckfelt is featured in the latest episode of Vice's Chef's Night Out, which follows chefs as they party after hours and cook (or eat) their favorite late night food. Shot during Detroit Restaurant Week, the video is a who's who of the current Detroit dining scene, with Andy Hollyday of soon to open Selden Standard, Dave Mancini of Supino and hotly anticipated Italian restaurant La Rondinella, Larry Mongo of Café d'Mongo's, and more, with visits to Lafayette, Two James, and Lieckfelt's apartment/pop up space.
As for his brick and mortar restaurant, he says that Two James is "very similar to what Guns + Butter will be" and mentions that Lafayette's combination of counter and table/booth seating "is something that's been engraved in my head". As for an opening date, he says late summer 2014, but that deadline has come and almost gone at this point.
