Corktown is officially cool according to no other authority than the New York Times. They feature several of the foodier businesses in their recent article "A Gleam of Renewal in Struggling Detroit", like Astro Coffee, Two James Spirits, Ottava Via, and Detroit Institute of Bagels, with Ponyride thrown in for good measure. The article shares details about each of the above businesses, which is great press on a national stage. But they also mention the abandoned train station and use the words "desolate" "ailing" and "demise" in the first paragraph. So is this kind of press a good or bad thing? Sound off in the comments.
