The Best of Metro Detroit's June Beer Events

Looking for something beer or booze-related to do this month? Eater Detroit beer contributor Courtney Ochab has the calendar laid out, so take a look and plan accordingly. All this beer isn't going to drink itself.

It's finally starting to feel like summer in the D! As the weather changes and layers begin to shed more opportunities to drink local craft beer become available. What better way to stay hydrated? This months events include a Dragonsmilk Firkin paired with monster cookies for dessert, a five-course beer pairing dinner at Forest Grill, a little bit of vodka, and a variety of outdoor beer fests that provide a sunglasses tan line.

Vivant Beer Dinner at Forest Grill, Birmingham:

Michigan craft beer is taking over Forest Grill. Brewery Vivant, working closely with Chef Nick, have paired their beers with every course presented. It's a beer lovers dream come true. Head brewer, Jacob Derylo will be in house to discuss the beers and Chef Nick will be discussing the five courses of pairings.

June 19

Hatter Day Beer Dinner at The Bird and The Bread, Birmingham:
This event will be available for 20 people in the private dining area known as the Stave Cave. Four courses will be paired with beer from New Holland's Hatter Series, and for dessert there's going to be a Dragonsmilk Firkin. Call for ticket information and prices: 248-203-6600

Detroit Summer Beer Fest, Campus Martius, June 20-21:

In celebration of Craft Beer Month, Metro Times and Ultimate Fun Productions is hosting the 3rd annual Summer Beer Fest. The event will be an amazing experience in taste and sound, including hot music to compliment cool brews. Over 60 breweries from around the world will showcase their unique libations.

Camp Casey's Wild West Summer Beer Fest, Royal Oak Farmer's Market:
