Brad Greenhill of Righteous Rojo is starting a new venture, Katoi, a truck serving Thai street-style food out of a converted SWAT van. Greenhill has built a following from pop up dinners, including several at Revolver in Hamtramck, where he will be testing out his Thai concept this weekend (13th and 14th of June).
The truck, equipped with a Texas style smoker and a wood-fired grill, will serve barbeque, curry, noodles, and plenty of locally sourced seasonal vegetables, so there will be something for vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores alike.
Greenhill is using Two James in Corktown as his home base, with outdoor takeout and seating and indoor table service at the popular distillery every Wednesday through Saturday. They'll be doing other events around town, and are planning on doing Downtown delivery Wednesday-Friday.
The truck will get rolling sometime this month, but for a first bite try one of his Revolver dinners. Tickets appear to still be available for the 9:30 p.m. seating on Saturday, June 14th, but act quickly because the other three dinners are completely sold out.
