Cornerstone Barrel House appears to be inching closer to opening, though there will still likely be quite a wait. With an original opening date of February or March, the old Oslo has been very slowly transitioning into sports bar and grill Cornerstone Barrel House, above the Whiskey Disco (which is also owned by CBH's Mike Bowen). While the Whiskey Disco has been hosting independent events for several months, the upstairs has remained empty except for construction, and the large glass front was covered with brown paper to prevent curious pedestrians from peeking inside.
The paper has finally been removed, but construction tools and materials make it clear that the space is not yet finished. What is also clearly visible is a warm but urban feel, with an exposed brick wall, long dark wood bar, and what appear to be reclaimed wood floors. No official word yet on the projected opening, but updates will definitely be forthcoming.
