It's been a struggle, but owner Angela Foster has been absolutely determined to reopen her coffee and bake shop Coffee and (____) in the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood as a permanent brick and mortar. According to a recent Facebook post, it seems that she is making her dream a reality, with a Soft Opening on May 30th and a June 6th Grand Opening.
The small shop began as a successful pop up last summer, and she loved the space and job so much she decided to make the space and business permanent. Her original plan was to stay open throughout the process, but complications (and some bad weather) meant that she ultimately had to close her doors in January.
However, an outpouring of community support when she announced her closing changed all of that, as Foster decided to go through with making the space her own after all. She has spent the past few months working to make everything legal, and to comply with historic preservation requirements.
She hasn't stopped baking, and she's searching for artists to exhibit their work in the shop, coming back stronger than ever.
