The name "New Hellas" is at the center of a legal dispute between the great grandson of the now closed New Hellas Greektown restaurant and Demetrios (Jimmy) Papatriantaflyllou, who was once a partner in the restaurant. Jimmy has opened a New Hellas in Farmington Hills, but is being sued by the great grandson for intentionally using the name and brand of the closed Greektown restaurant to confuse and take advantage of former Greektown customers.
