Tony V's Really is Opening Soon

It seems that Tony V's Tavern in Midtown really will be opening soon, as a tipster noted paper is off the windows and the "cool" interior is visible, featuring a refinished wooden bar, stools, and some additional seating. They have posted a large "Opening Soon" sign outside of the bar, and lights were on in the kitchen this afternoon, suggesting that "soon" could even be this month.

The space was once Alvin's, a beloved neighborhood institution, but a year ago they still didn't have a liquor license. The sign has now been up for six months, but that long wait will hopefully be well worth it once their doors have opened.
