The Detroit Whiskey Crawl

Making the case for Detroit whiskey city isn't too difficult, especially with Two James and a profusion of craft cocktail bars joining the dive-bar heavy scene in recent years. Yahoo has put together their own list of must-visit places in the city (with The Oakland thrown in for good measure), and they're covering all the bases.

Two James is a given, because they make their own, and since Sugar House is just down the street and is popular with locals and out-of-towners alike, they also get a mention. Green Dot Stables starts the less expensive portion of the tour, with Jacoby's Biergarten adding a little variety. Abick's is definitely the wildcard pick, but Pj's Lager House is a reliable end-of-the-evening choice.

Once Detroit City Distillery opens they'll add another whiskey option to the city, and the new but already beloved Thomas Magee's Sporting House Whiskey Bar really shouldn't be missed. Have another suggestion? Leave it in the comments.
