Tom's Oyster Bar, located in downtown Royal Oak is bringing a beer-lover's haven to 316 S. Main. The double storefront will undergo a remodel and the space formerly used as an extra dining area and party room will take on a new appearance and name, Ale Mary's Beer Hall.

The craft beer bar is scheduled to open spring 2014 and will feature a large selection of craft beer and menu of beer-influenced dishes.

"With 24 taps and 100+ bottles we plan to bring in the world's best beers," said General Manager Justin Pries. "Ale Mary's is also going to be a place where beer connoisseurs can attend small scale dinners and gain an immense amount of knowledge from our chef and brewery representative."

Ale Mary's Beer Hall will seat 50-60 guests, including a large community table and outdoor patio. The community table will be the main feature of the frequently scheduled beer dinners. The first will take place on March 26th.

The intimate dinners will hold 14-18 seats, the first being available to Ale Mary's Founding Members, the first investors to Tom's Oyster Bar's new vision. Memberships are set in two tiers, High Gravity and Session members. More information can be found on their website and a few High Gravity memberships remain available for purchase.

On March 26th Ale Mary's will be hosting a Founders Appreciation event. Hopslam will be tapped at 6pm for founding members and 7pm for the public. Sample menu items from the new craft beer bar will be available for taste.-by Courtney Ochab
