MI Cocktail Culture Looks To Be Epic

Michigan has been steadily upping their craft cocktail game, and things are kicking into high gear with April's MI Cocktail Culture event, to be held on the 5th of the month at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Liquid Events Detroit and Bailout Productions are hosting the evening, which will include a dozen local establishments and organizations, each paired with a "top shelf spirit" from which they'll make a signature cocktail for the attendees' drinking pleasure.

The 21 and up event will feature some of the area's most beloved and up-and-coming drinking establishments (with the Detroit chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild thrown in for good measure). The full "dirty dozen" includes The Oakland Art Novelty Company, Antietam, The Sugar House, The Ravens Club, Bigalora Cucina, Torino, Detroit USBG, Hamlin Corner, Great Lakes Coffee, The Root Restaurant, Public House, and The Stand Gastro Bistro. This is a night for showing off and having fun, so expect great things. One thing to look forward to is The Stand's use of their new Perlini System, which infuses ingredients and injects carbonation into a cocktail made in a special pressurized shaker. Not into craft cocktails? A TBA Tap Takeover from a Michigan brewery will also be part of the event.

Food will also be available at the event, though it will not be included in the ticket price. All food will be provided by StrEAT Detroit, who will have Mac Shack, El Guapo, and their newest truck Tuk Tuk on hand.

Expect "live music and strolling sideshow circus acts" to provide the evening's entertainment, and just in case this wasn't sounding good enough, proceeds will be going to charity. The event has teamed up with Camp Casey "a nonprofit horseback riding program for children with cancer and their families".
Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door and includes 15 beverage samples.
