There's a brand new article in Crain's Detroit about Atwater In The Park (due to open April 1st), and it includes some other exciting news as well: they're already planning to open another brewpub. This is something of a surprise, as apparently Atwater In The Park almost didn't happen because one of the owners, Mark Rieth, didn't want to be in the restaurant business. However, after meeting Eric Djordjevic, who was in charge of the food and beverage program at The Detroit Athletic Club (DAC) he decided to give it a go, and they've been moving ahead with the concept ever since.

They seem to be taking the food at Atwater In The Park seriously, bringing in Kevin Green, executive chef at Coach Insignia. As for the second brewpub they're planning? The concept will reportedly be within the Detroit city limits this time. No word on when or what exactly, but they supposedly have their sights set on the Foxtown district.
