MIDTOWNGreat Lakes Coffee is hosting a Founders tap takeover and five-course dinner this Friday, right in the coffee shop. Chef Mathew Brownlie is in charge of the menu, which is definitely not vegetarian, just a heads' up (menu at the link). [Great Lakes Coffee]

EASTEPOINTE—A Middle Eastern restaurant recently purchased by a Syrian couple has been renamed The Bomb which is understandably ruffling a few feathers and causing some raised eyebrows. MICHIGAN—Congratulations to Michigan breweries Shorts, Bells, Founders, Kuhnhenn, Dark Horse, Almar Orchards, B Nektar and Schramm's Mead for making it onto the RateBeer.com "Best Beers By Style Category" list. [RateBeer]
