The Museum Of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) has been hosting pop-up kitchens for a while now, but they have partnered with Eastern Market's Russell Street Deli to open a permanent vegetarian/vegan café in the space called Topsoil. They are hoping that the affordable restaurant (nothing will cost more than $8) will bring people into the museum, which doesn't have a permanent collection but instead hosts temporary exhibitions which change on a regular basis.

The Detroit Free Press reports that as for the food, they will be serving "a soba noodle bowl and a curry every day, as well as salads and three soups, all suitable for carryout or enjoying in the 50-seat café", and they even have a vegan coney, which will be "a tofu hot dog in a bun topped with Russell Street's own vegan chili prepared in a smoother, coney-style texture." They'll also have coffee, beer, and wine.

MOCAD members will get a 10% discount in the café, which officially opens this Wednesday. Hours are the same as the MOCAD's: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, and 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
