Fort Street Brewery: Downriver Gets A Culinary Shout Out

Downriver gets a really bad rap, and blogger George Vieira frankly acknowledges that in his latest Made In Michigan post, but he also believes that there are good things going on, and one of those things is Fort Street Brewery in Lincoln Park.

It's a Downriver place through and through, with sports banners, TVs, and a simpler style of craft beer, but that's what they do because that's what works. As Vieira writes, "It's hard to say if [Brewmaster Doug] Beedy is intentionally holding back, or if he's simple brewing what he likes. Either way, it's working." and that's worth a lot.
