Gold Cash Gold kicked off dinner service on December 6, bringing a new dining feature to the ever-growing Michigan Avenue district. The remodel is stunning and the menu is now available. While it's still probably too early to fairly and accurately review this eatery, here's what some pioneering diners on Yelp, Instagram, and elsewhere have to say about this new option in Corktown.

Surprising Cuisine: Yelper Keenis W. was impressed by the décor as well as the food. "The menu has some unexpected items and introduced me to new foods I hadn't had before, it was a real treat. For something different try the burrata and pepper jam outstanding!"

Friendly Service: "The squash 3 ways and walleye entree were great!," reports Jacqueline G. on Yelp. The attentive staff "impressed us by tailoring their recommendations and advice to our groups particular needs."

Order These: "Homemade bread, squash and lox were all amazing to start," reports Alex Rhea on Foursquare. "Short ribs for dinner and buttermilk pie for dessert didn't let down either."

Meat Eater Heaven: When asked about her dining experience, juniperjohns tells an Instagram follower, "It was very good. Pretty food. Not many vegan options but if you eat meat, it will be heaven."

Reasonable Prices, Small Portions: John L. from Windsor is the only non-five star review on Yelp. He notes that while the prices were reasonable, in his opinion the food was a mixed bag. Resonating other reviewers, John and his wife enjoyed the burrata and pepper jam, but could not agree on the walleye entrée. The diner also didn't care for the buttermilk pie or the pimento cheese gougeres.

Previewer: Restaurant blogger Traverse360 attended one of the exclusive previews for Gold Cash Gold. They recommend the Chef's Plate appetizer, the fried chicken, frites, polenta dessert, and the Dad's Trophy cocktail.

Gold Cash Gold is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday; 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and closed on Mondays.  The restaurant does not accept reservations accept for The Chefs Table, which can be reserved nightly for groups of 8 to 14 guests. The Chefs Table offers a special view of the kitchen.
