Inside Antietam: An Art Deco Gem In Eastern Market

Antietam reopened on Black Friday, once again inviting people to drink in the decor as well as the craft cocktails.

While much of the hubbub surrounding Eastern Market's newest restaurant has focused on the drastic staffing changes, Antietam's Art Deco interior has also charmed reviewers. With a reopening on Black Friday, diners are once again welcomed for craft cocktails and seasonal French-inspired cuisine in an interior design gem that draws on geometric patterns and jewel tones. Eater photographers Michelle and Chris Gerard recently toured the facility.

Entering the building, guests are invited to hang their coats behind a slim wooden bar. Turn left into the main dining and bar area for a choice of leather booths, or pointed jet chairs that recall the triangular patterns on the restaurant's exterior. To the right, take in the full bar complete with stools. A mirror-like blue and gilded dancer decorates the wall above the fine liquors.
