After several false starts, EliTea Bar is finally opening for business Friday, December 19. Originally slated to open in late-November, the café hit a small hiccup with some sprinkler maintenance. However updates to the company Facebook page confirm the bar has passed all the necessary inspections and is ready to serve up 100 types of loose tea.
"The store opening might [be] really fashionably late, but I'm loving every step of the process," says owner Eli Majid, adding that the cafe will initially hold-off from offering specialty brews like Thai tea and bubble tea until after the holidays. "I want to make sure we do it right. The store design is modern yet familiar, I very excited to bring a new tea experience to the Detroit tea scene."
EliTea Bar is located at 108 S. Old Woodward Avenue in Birmingham. For more information call 866-567-1988. The shop will be open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily Friday through December 24.
