Michigan, The New York Times is on to us. Today the Times released a list of the most Googled recipes by state during Thanksgiving, which manages to capture with simple algorithms a window into the edible ethos of a nation.

At the top of the list for Michigan? Cheesy potatoes. The paper reports that this recipe is "9 times more commonly search (relative to population size) than in the rest of the country." Other common Mitten State searches on the calorie-crammed list included pretzel jello, cheese balls, seven layer salad, and Twinkie cake.
