Sweet Lorraine's Fabulous Mac n' Cheez!'s first Detroit franchise opened November 21 in the Renaissance Center. The fast casual dining experience, which has excitement (and a little misspelling) in the name, offers 14 different kinds of macaroni and cheese dishes as well as vegetarian and gluten-free soups, salads, wraps, and grilled cheese.
Located in Suite 200 of the RenCen, Mac n' Cheez!'s hours are Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Paul Bensman, director of franchising for Sweet Lorraine's, says the company will open several more locations in the first quarter of next year with plans for 10 to 12 more cafes in the next two years in areas across the United States. A company-owned location is set to open in Midtown near Wayne State in January 2015.
