Hatch Detroit contestants, Detroit Institute of Bagels, La Feria, Detroit Vegan Soul, Alley Wine, and Bumbo's Restaurant and Bar, received grants this week from the Detroit Lions for improvements, MLive reports.

Here is how each will spend the money:

Detroit Institute of Bagels will use funding to create park beside their building for community events and a Corktown Farmer's Market.

La Feria will use the funding to create an outdoor patio, increasing the tapas bar's seating by 50 percent.

Detroit Vegan Soul will purchase a walk-in freezer.

Alley Wine will use the money for an outdoor patio and green space in their new storefront.

Bumbo's Restaurant and Bar plans to open a location in Hamtramck and will use the money for their kitchen build-out.
