Delays— When it comes to restaurant openings— and reopenings— in Metro Detroit, timelines are rarely reliable. Om Café is not immune. The restaurant announced on Tuesday that it would not be reopening on October 9 as previously planned. While no new date was offered, new co-owner Jessica Norwood says she and her partner are putting out feelers for professional chefs willing to help them with their new concept. [EaterWire]

Food TV— Crews visited Cafe D'Mongo's Speakeasy on Saturday to film shots for Esquire's television network's ‘Best Bars in America' series. The Detroit News reports that the show's crew was also spotted filming at Two James Spirits and Cadieux Café. [The Detroit News]

Beer Here— Royal Oak craft beer pub Bastone Brewing was awarded Small Brewpub and Brewpub Brewer of the Year at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado. All together, five Michigan brewers received medals including Founders Brewing Co., Short's Brewing Company, Stormcloud Brewing Company, and Tapistry Brewing. [Crain's]
