Denver-based company Punch Bowl Social will open it's location in "The Z" parking garage by early December. That's the latest from CEO Robert Thompson, who spoke to Eater Detroit this week over the phone about one of the city's most anticipated fall openings.
While Thompson couldn't put an exact date on the soft opening, he says the restaurant and entertainment space should be ready between December 7 and December 9.
As for what's left, the owner says construction is progressing well. "We're in the finishing stage—the skin on top of the bones part of the process," Thompson says and he plans to hire between 125 and 150 staff members through an upcoming casting call.
Thompson adds that Dan Gilbert's work inspired him to bring the brand to Detroit. "We look for great opportunities in great communities and we believe in this renaissance that is happening in Detroit," he says.
While you wait, take a look at some pictures from the construction.
