CAMPUS MARTIUS— Meridian Winter Blast is coming, from February 7th through the 9th, and it promises to be better than ever. Now in it's 10th year it will feature skating, food, a hockey shoot out, musical performances, and more. It's an inexpensive event as well, "Admission is $2, a donation of three canned goods or nonperishable items, or a children's book". And yes, there will be warming tents and open lobbies, so freezing shouldn't be an issue. [Detroit News]
CORKTOWN—It's Takeover Tuesday at St. Cece's Pub, and Dr. Sushi is back with both sushi and warming Japanese cuisine. The menu is available online, and guest chef Angela Diamond is making ice cream, so warm up in front of the fire starting at 6 p.m. before embracing the cold and eating something frozen. [Facebook]
MIDTOWN—It's another Tequila Tuesday at Great Lakes Coffee, and with this weather some warming tequila and tacos from Alley Taco might just do the trick. And they'll have a DJ playing all sorts of random stuff, so dancing could be in order. [Facebook]
CORKTOWN—Think Rubbed is going to be the best sandwich shop around? Help them open by buying food in advance through their Indiegogo campaign, which has less than a week to go. [Facebook]
