DETROIT— Tom's Tavern, the boozy shack on 7 Mile with an incredibly rich history, was recently damaged in an attempted robbery when thieves used a truck to smash into the building this past weekend. Their annual Babe Ruth Party will take place as planned on February 1st despite the extensive damage, so go ahead and show up for a good time and a good cause. [Metro Times]
