Public House, a new Ferndale bar and restaurant from the owners of Woodward Imperial, is readying to make its debut, and today Eat it Detroit takes a look around the space. EID's Nicole Rupersburg calls it "a modern Manhattan high-style "dive" bar that pays homage to the city's 1970s punk scene," but food is still a major focus. Chef Dan Hine will man the open kitchen and will serve items like burgers, tacos, fried chicken, braised brisket, and fried sardines. When he first pitched the restaurant to the Ferndale City Council back in December, co-owner Jeff King said it would be a "gathering place for adults and children."
The owners hope to open Public house in late September or early October, opening from 11 a.m. - 2 a.m. An open call for all positions will take place this Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
