The Cooking Channel is totally onto the Detroit trend, and they're airing an episode of Chuck's Eat The Street called "Motor City Meals" at 10:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 3rd, to prove it.
The show's host, Chuck Hughes, will be checking out Slow's Bar-B-Q, Hygrade Deli, La Pita, and Mercury Burger Bar. The press release claims the episode is about Detroit's "comeback story" and the "food traditions they [we] stick with through thick and thin" so be forewarned that a heavy dose of Detroit Ruin Porn may be featured (but hopefully not). At least Chuck isn't claiming that his show will "shock and enrage" though, *coughAnthonyBourdaincough*. Though he did miss out on the Guns + Butter trend, so Bourdain, bad-boy culinary tourist extraordinaire, is still totally winning for now. [-ED-]
