Blake Farms Introduces Hard Cider

New, 1 comment

Blake Farms has been growing apples and producing cider since 1946, but they are expanding their business this year to include another kind of cider-the boozy kind. This October they will be opening Blake's Cider House & Winery, which will brew up to 50,000 gallons per year. They'll start with hard cider this fall, and anticipate expansion next year.

Blake Farms will supposedly be the first (hard) cider house in Southeast Michigan, and since Michigan is the 3rd largest producer of apples in the country, it's about time for the state to start producing more hard cider. Watch for updates, and suggest your favorite MI hard ciders in the comments.
