While Mudgie's Deli still draws big crowds and public adulation for their sandwich shop extraordinaire, it seems that local restauranteurs Jason Frankel and Abbey Markell aren't quite on board enough to not dive in to the Corktown sandwich scene themselves. Their new deli, Rubbed, is heavy on the cured meat and European-style cafe ambiance and has plans to open as soon as this October. They also hope to use crowd-funding to help with the quick buildout.
