The fun news from this lengthy Sylvia Rector write-up of the "booming" Michigan craft-distilling scene (not to be confused with the state's booming craft brewing or local food movements) is that Two James Spirit's plans to fire up their craft next month in Corktown will mark the first time since Prohibition that heavy duty spirits have been manufactured within the city of Detroit. (Legally, that is). It's a fun read, and a great intro to a sector of the craft beverage market that many may not have noticed is on the rise. [Freep]
