It's not exactly clear what to consider Chew On Detroit, a new food and nightlife suggestion search engine flagged this afternoon that has been running since June 10. A tip sheet? A Detroit diner's do's and don'ts? A 'What Not To Wear' for the fine dining set?
Chew on Detroit calls itself the place to find "where to eat and what to do in Detroit," but it also looks to connect tech-savvy but locally clueless would-be diners and drinkers with the bars and restaurants available in the city proper.
The database seems to be somewhat complete based on a cursory perusal, and also appears to skew toward restaurant owners wanting a place to lay out their latest specials, suggested dress code and reservation lines. It is worth pointing out that Atlas Global Bistro still pops up as open and ready, when in fact the longtime Midtown establishment is in the process of moving.
