Grosse Pointe's Red Crown restaurant was once owned by Mindy Lopus, who also counted Tallulah amongst her many ventures, but after selling each of her businesses, the restaurants are all working to reinvent themselves under new ownership.
According to Sylvia Rector at The Detroit Free Press, Red Crown has managed the transition successfully. Chef Curtis Townsend stepped up from the role of sous chef and he has been working with the new manager, Robert Nahra, to revamp the menu. Everything is made in house or (in the case of dessert) locally, and the menu has stuck with Southern American as a theme, but incorporated more variety and less bar-b-que.
The restaurant has also increased their hours, adding Monday lunch and dinner and resuming Sunday brunch as of December 1st.
