Roast's Two Week Closure Due To Fire

Photo Roast Official Facebook Page

Michael Symon's Roast caught fire earlier this week, causing concern as both the restaurant and Westin Book-Cadillac were evacuated after a grease fire started in the restaurant's kitchen. Fortunately nobody was harmed and the extent of the damage was minimal.

However, suspicions that the restaurant may be closed were confirmed in a Detroit Free Press article, which reported that the ducts and ventilation system in the kitchen did suffer enough damage that the restaurant will be closed for the next two weeks as repairs are made. The two weeks fall before and during the holiday season, which is traditionally an extremely busy time, so the loss of revenue will certainly be a frustration. However, all staff are supposed to be taken care of despite the closure, and Roast hopes to open again on December 26th.
